2004年に開校したKGIC Japanは2019年4月に15周年を迎えした。

現在通学いただいている生徒さんはもちろん、2004年から今までに通学いただいたたくさんの生徒さん、またいつも熱意をもってレッスンしてくださるネイティブ講師、日本人講師のみなさんに、心より感謝しております。

20周年、25周年と、これからもここKGIC Japanで、みなさんが世界とつながるお手伝いができたら嬉しいです。

これまでにKGICで教えてくれた先生、また卒業生のみなさんからメッセージをいただきましたので、ご紹介させていただきます。

1.KGICで過ごした時間はどうでしたか。

It was an exciting time. I was a little nervous but also very hopeful for the first days of KGIC Japan. We started with just me and Yuki and Joey and a lot of ideas. Starting a school from scratch is very hard work, and both Yuki and Joey were determined that it would work. And it did!

2.KGICでの一番の思い出を教えてください。

Watching the little girl who would be our very first student walk up the stairs to our school with her mother. I called out to Yuki that there were people coming! That little girl's name was Mayu, and she was our fuel for getting KGIC's momentum. She was our good luck charm, and one of the sweetest students I ever taught. I will always remember Mayu, KGIC's first student. 

3.今は何をしていますか。

I took early retirement from teaching university, and am starting up my own counseling business. Knowing Yuki, and watching how she worked so hard to get her own business up and running and successful, I know it won't be easy. Yuki has inspired me to be my own boss!

4.KGICの生徒さんに一言。

You have chosen a school that has a heart. Yuki had a dream, and through her hard work and dedication, her dream came true. Whether it is learning English, starting something new, or following your dream, choosing KGIC is the first step towards becoming who you want to be. Follow the example of the person who created this school, and you will find your success, too!

1.KGICで過ごした時間はどうでしたか。

I enjoyed teaching the energetic students at KGIC.  I had great relationships with everyone, and was fortunate to have met so many interesting and intelligent students!  I enjoyed getting to teach students of many different age groups.  

2.KGICでの一番の思い出を教えてください。

There were so many good memories!  I think the best was my last week at KGIC.  After every class, parents were waiting with gifts for me and wanted to take my picture.  There were many last hugs and a few tears.  I was surprised that people felt so strongly that I was leaving!  It was a great way to say goodbye to KGIC and Japan.

3.今は何をしていますか。

I am an English teacher.  When I worked in Japan, I realized that teaching was my profession, not just a job.  I love teaching!  I have 180 students, and I am a mentor for 3 new teachers.  It is very challenging, but I believe a teacher can make the world a better place.  Gambatte, ne!

4.KGICの生徒さんに一言。

KGIC students I will never forget you!  I have a picture one student's grandmother made for me hanging up in my house.  I hope you continue to study English (or anything) and learn about this wonderful world.  Thank you for teaching me!  If it wasn't for all the great times I had with my students, I wouldn't have become a teacher.  Also, come to California.  It's such a fun place!

It was absolutely lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my time with students, parents,  colleagues and boss. My time at KGIC showed me how much teaching and learning means to me. 

2.KGICでの一番の思い出を教えてください。

I honestly cannot pinpoint a best moment. There were many.  The great memories were the times when we celebrated progress,  when we had a good laugh together,  and when we came up with brilliant ideas then put them to work.

3.今は何をしていますか。

I am working on being a better version of myself. 

4.KGICの生徒さんに一言。

We never stop learning and growing. We never reach a destination. We continue our journey in life to enjoy and grow in the process. 

1.レッスンを始めたきっかけは？

もともと親の勧めで英会話教室に通っており、本山への引っ越しを機に近くの英会話教室を探していたのがきっかけです。英語でのコミュニケーションに慣れることのできる英会話教室を探し、KGICへ通うようになりました。

2.KGICに通ってみてどうでしたか？

3.今は何をしていますか。

高校卒業後は4年間海外留学し、現在は途上国での開発支援を行うNGOの現地駐在員としてアフリカ(エチオピア)に赴任しています。現地スタッフとの連携や事業マネジメント、進捗報告や会計業務などを担当しています。

４.これからの夢は？

これまでの経験や英語力を活かし、今後は途上国支援の専門的な国際スタッフ、また、そのような活動や世界の現状を伝えるフォトジャーナリズムの道に進めれれば良いなと思っています。

５.KGICの生徒さんへ一言

1.レッスンを始めたきっかけは？

母がKGICの存在を知り、私と妹に英語を習わないかと勧め、そこから2人で始めました。

2.KGICに通ってみてどうでしたか？

英語が好きになりました！そこでできた友達や先生と話すのも毎週の楽しみでした。また、小学生の時から英語を習っていたおかげで中学では英語が余裕でしたので、英語に対して自信がつきました。

3.今は何をしていますか。

2018年11月まで南山大学に通っていましたが、2019年1月からアメリカ、カリフォルニア州の大学に編入することになったため、今はそれに向けての準備期間です。アメリカの大学では新たにビジネスを学ぶため、現在はその予習などをしてます。

４.これからの夢は？

まだ詳しいことは決まってませんが、将来は人の役に立つ仕事がしたいです。そして、アメリカやどこか別の国にいても、日本の将来のために働きたいです。

５.KGICの生徒さんへ一言

これからの世の中、英語は今以上に必要になってくると思います。英語は簡単ではないけれど、誰でも身につけられると思うので、お互い頑張りましょう！

1.レッスンを始めたきっかけは？

知人の紹介で小学校6年生のときからKGIC をスタートしました。

2.KGICに通ってみてどうでしたか？

KGIC は１週間の楽しみの一つでした。ネイティブの先生はどの方も本当に優しく、楽しい思い出しかないです。テキストは日本の英語の教科書とは違い、英語をコミュニケーションツールとして扱うための実用的なものばかりでした。さらに、先生方は自分の好きな映画、洋楽などの話をしてくれ、自分の意見をもっと話せるようになりたい、うまく表現できるようになりたい！と英語学習の意欲が自然と高まっていく環境が整っていました。

3.今は何をしていますか。

日本の高校を卒業した後渡米し、現在アメリカの大学でビジネスを勉強しています。この決断に至ったのもKGICのプログラムでカナダ校に短期留学したことがきっかけです。

４.これからの夢は？

アメリカの四年制大学を卒業し、経営者として世界で仕事をしたいです。

５.KGICの生徒さんへ一言

英語は自分の世界を広げるための最大の武器です。英語を使って世界の人と繋がる、出会いを作る そんな自分をイメージしてください。ただの教科としてではなく、人生を豊かにするツールとして考えれば、英語学習がもっとワクワクするものになるでしょう！
